Mythology and Legend
The Pancharama Kshetras are believed to have originated after the demon Tarakasura was killed by Lord Kartikeya (Kumara Swamy). The Shiva Lingam in Tarakasura’s throat broke into five fragments, which fell at different locations. The fragment that landed in Palakollu became the Ksheerarama Lingam.
